Any material, containing 1% (one per cent) or greater of asbestos, is defined as an Asbestos Containing Material (ACM).

Prior to building demolition or renovation activities, the State of Montana, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), requires that an asbestos inspection be performed by a trained asbestos inspector, licensed and accredited by the DEQ.
